Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi looks as good as he did back in the 80's when he first blasted onto the music scene. His hair may be A LOT shorter, but my goodness he is still hot!

I will never forgot the first time I set my eyes on Jon.  It was 1983 and I was 14.  I live in New York and Jon is from New Jersey. They aired a segment on my local news about him with a short clip of the video for 'Runaway' along with a small interview.  It was love at first sight!  I immediately bought the album.  I spent countless hours in my room with this cassette tape in my black Panasonic tape recorder listening to 'Runaway' over and over again.  You know, back in the old days you had to actually rewind the tape to hear a song again!  My other favorite song on that album was "She Don't Know Me'.  25 years later I still think he is the best and sexiest!  I have been to many of his concerts and they are awesome!

The first time I saw Jon's short hair was at a Def Leppard concert.  Near the end of the concert, Joe Elliot of Def Leppard announced they had a special guest.  Onto the stage walks a handsome man with short, blonde hair.  My sister and I are like, "Is that Bon Jovi?"  We just could not believe it.  Of course we had nose bleed seats so we could only get a good look at him in the video screen.  It was not until he actually started singing that we believed it was indeed Jon himself, WITHOUT the big hair.

Jon was born, John Francis Bongiovi Jr., in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on March 2, 1962. He grew up in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Jon had the tendency to spend most of his adolescence cutting school to attend music activities instead. He played in local bands with friends and his cousin Tony who owned the then famous New York recording studio, the Power Station. His academic records displayed less than spectacular achievements and poor grades.

After highschool, he was employed as a janitor. With his family connections, he was very lucky to have the oppurtunity to record demos with several musicians at the Power House Station studio. One demo, Runaway, caught the attention of the local New Jersey radio station and Jon recruited a band to support the song. That was the track that jump started his successful music career.

His early influences included: Southside Johnny, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Thin Lizzy, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith

In 1989, Jon married his high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley and the couple remain together today, with four children: daughter Stephanie Rose (May 31, 1993) and ons Jesse James Louis (February 19, 1995), Jacob Hurley (May 7th, 2002), and Romeo Jon (March 29, 2004).
